Idea!

When we spoke to Jared about our failed bedroom idea he said something that gave us a brand new idea. When we realised before that we were considering changing the bedroom environment to maybe a gallery or museum, the idea of an art gallery stuck with us. He spoke to us about a painting by Van Gogh that was of a bedroom, but had been made into 3D so that you could literally go into the painting in the video, shown here: Van Gogh 3D Painting

This idea instantly jumped out at us and we began brainstorming ideas within this topic. We eventually decided on an idea where a janitor is at work after hours cleaning up an art gallery. On spotting an item of rubbish by a painting, he goes towards it to pick it up and notices something strange about it (which s that it is rippling and looking very strange). On touching the painting he gets sucked into it and into the environment in the painting.

As of yet we are unsure of the painting itself that we are going to choose or how the story will be brought to an end, but we are really excited about this idea and feel that we can execute it well! We are looking for a painting that is slightly surreal so that there is an obvious contrast between the structured interior of the gallery it sits in and the painting itself, so we are all going away to research different art movements, artists and paintings to find the right one.

The project is admittedly demanding. It is very animation and modelling heavy, and it going to need research to be done into dynamics and lighting. Though thorough research should prove to be invaluable when it comes to all areas so that seems like the best place to start! More coming soon!
